Tennessee slugged its way to Omaha.

UT belted six home runs in Sunday’s 15-6 win over LSU and propelled the Volunteers to the College World Series for the first time since 2005.

The six home runs are the most by UT in an NCAA Tournament game.

Tennessee has hit 16 home runs in five NCAA Tournament games.

Jake Rucker blasted two home runs to lead the offensive charge. Drew Gilbert, Jordan Beck, Connor Pavolony and Evan Russell also homered for the Vols.

LSU starter Landon Marceaux, who pitched twice last weekend in Oregon, gave the Tigers three innings on Sunday.

He didn’t have his best stuff but left with Tigers trailing only 3-2.

The Tigers bullpen could not contain the Vols.

Tennessee plated 12 runs against six different relievers. The Vols broke the game open with six runs in the top of the fifth inning.

The teams combined for 10 home runs on Sunday.

LSU belted four home runs in the loss.

Dylan Crews hit two home runs. He led off the game with a solo home run and added another solo homer in the third inning. Tre Morgan and Brody Drost both launched two-run homers.
