SEC Baseball Power Rankings

Southeastern 14 ranks the SEC baseball teams through the first three weekends of conference play. Vanderbilt is ranked No. 1 in five of the six college baseball polls. Arkansas is ranked No.1 in other poll. Overall, six different SEC teams are ranked in the Top 5 in the six various polls, including all five Top 5 spots in the USA Today Coaches poll.

Vanderbilt (24-3, 8-1 SEC)

The Commodores have the best offense (.316 average) and pitching staff (2.31 ERA) in SEC.  Vandy is ranked No. 1 in five of the six college baseball polls

Arkansas (24-4, 7-2 SEC)

The Razorbacks powerful lineup leads the SEC with 50 home runs. Senior RHP Kevin Kopps has emerged in the bullpen with no earned runs and 22 strikeouts (2 walks) in 12 1/3 innings.

Ole Miss (24-6, 7-2 SEC)

The Rebels have second-best record in SEC play despite numerous injuries, including the loss of Tim Elko, who suffered a knee injury this week vs. North Alabama. Elko leads the SEC with 36 RBIs.

Mississippi State (21-7, 5-4 SEC)

MSU has one of the league’s top pitching staffs and leads the league with 372 strikeouts and five shutouts. Can the offense and defense show improvement? The Bulldogs have the second-worst fielding mark (.972) in the league and have the third-fewest runs scored (38) in SEC play.

Tennessee (25-5, 7-2 SEC)

Tennessee has more wins than any other SEC team this season, and boasts a 40-7 (.851) record over the last two seasons. The Vols lead the SEC in walks (199) and fewest walks allowed (73). Tennessee also owns a 6-0 record in extra innings, tops in the SEC.

South Carolina (19-8, 6-3 SEC)

The Gamecocks are 6-1 in SEC play since being no-hit by Jack Leiter on March 13. Centerfielder Brady Allen leads the SEC with five home runs in conference play. All five home runs have come in series finale of series.

Florida (18-9, 5-4 SEC)

The preseason No. 1 team in the nation is coming off a huge series win over Ole Miss. The next two weeks are pivotal as the Gators face Tennessee and Vanderbilt to close out first half of season.

Georgia (18-9, 3-6 SEC)

The Bulldogs have dropped their first three SEC series and now have the task of facing No. 1 Vanderbilt this weekend in Nashville.

Kentucky (18-7, 5-4 SEC)

Kentucky opened with series win over Missouri and Auburn, but was swept last weekend at Miss. State. A huge midweek win over No.5 Louisville gives the Cats momentum headed into home series with LSU.

Alabama (16-11 2-7 SEC)

Alabama has lost nine of last 10 games this season.  The Crimson Tide is still without ace Connor Preilipp and might not have Antonie Jean and Connor Shamblin on the mound this weekend at Texas A&M.

LSU (17-11, 1-8 SEC)

The Tigers are off to worst SEC start since 1969. The loss of ace pitcher Jaden Hill makes an even tougher hill to climb for LSU.

Texas A&M (19-11, 3-6 SEC)

The Aggies have lost nine of last 12 games and went 3-6 in the first three weekends, all against SEC Eastern Division teams. Six of final seven series are against SEC Western Division teams.

Auburn (12-13, 1-8 SEC)

Auburn has some firepower with junior first baseman Ty Miller and junior RHP Cody Greenhill. Miller is fourth in the league with a .376 average. Greenhill is third in the league in ERA (1.26) behind Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker. The Tigers issues are in the bullpen, which is 0-5 with 7.75 ERA in SEC play.

Missouri (10-17, 3-6 SEC)

Missouri is one of two SEC teams with losing record this season. The Tigers are coming off their first SEC series win since 2019.
