John Calipari announced that Bryce Hopkins is dealing with a back strain after participating in last weekend’s Pro Day.
This back strain came nearly a month before the opening game against Duke which could be a cause for concern not only early in the season but later if it continues to aggravate him.
Hopkins is a true freshman (one of three highly touted freshman) and has been very impressive so far and has high expectations for him ahead of this upcoming season. His 6-foot-6 frame brings great height and length to Kentucky’s front court, with shooting ability to stretch the defense.
We will continue to monitor his situation as Hopkins could either be a major contributor or see his season cut short due to injury.
