SEC pitcher rankings, April 26: Vols still dominate the list, but Georgia's Cannon makes a charge for the top

Georgia's Jonathan Cannon isn't No. 1 in our pitcher rankings, but he's quickly closing the gap in his healthy return; meanwhile, six Vols make our list of 14.

Overall strength of schedule and conference stats considered, even if those factors aren't always listed. Innings pitched and ERA for all games listed in parenthesis.
1. Drew Beam, Tennessee (1.86, 58 IP): Has a 1.98 SEC era in a league-leading 41 conference innings.
2. Jonathan Cannon, Georgia (1.55, 52.1): Missed two weeks, but he's been untouchable (26 IP, 0.69 ERA) in league games.
3. Joseph Gonzalez, Auburn (1.71, 47.1): Has gone at least six innings and allowed no more than three runs in weekend starts the last four weeks.
4. Connor Noland, Arkansas (2.54, 60.1): Has pitched better inside the league (37.1 IP, 1.93 ERA) than outside it.
5. Hunter Barco, Florida (2.50, 50.1): Didn't pitch last week and it's uncertain when we'll see him again.
6. Chase Burns, Tennessee (2.12, 51): Rebounded from tough start vs. Alabama for 6 1/3 innings of one-earned-run ball at Florida.
7. Chase Dollander, Tennessee (2.33, 46): Wasn't on the roster last weekendafter being hit by line drive vs. Alabama.
8. Nathan Dettmer, Texas A&M (3.38, 53.1): Has a 2.57 ERA in 35 SEC innings.
9. Will Mabrey, Tennessee (0.94, 28.2): A sparkling 0.59 EA in 15.1 SEC innings.
10. Will Sanders, South Carolina (3.52, 61.1): 24% K rate and 27% ground-ball rate have been helpful for the Gamecocks' workhorse starter.
11. Devin Futrell, Vanderbilt (2.11, 42.2): He's the biggest reason Vandy's unbeaten in midweek games.
12. Camden Sewell, Tennessee (2.40, 30): Has thrown 4 1/3 relief innings in single games the past two weekends.
13. Brandon Smith, Mississippi St.(3.77, 43): A 3.10 league ERA in 20.1 innings.
14. Redmond Walsh, Tennessee (0.84, 21.1): Vol closer has two wins and five saves overall with a 0.77 ERA in 11.2 SEC innings.
