New Kentucky guard CJ Fredrick has been cleared to play by the team doctors
Fredrick had to get surgery on his leg for a pre-existing injury in June and the rehab process has been long with many doubting he would be available for the start of the season; however, it is now official that he can practice and then suit up for the Wildcats’ opening game against Duke.
Fredrick will bring a much-needed 3-point shooting ability as he is a career 48% shooter from long range. He averaged 10.2 and 7.5 points per game in his two seasons with Iowa.
The former Iowa Hawkeye announced his intention to transfer last May. Kentucky fans can now breathe easy knowing that Fredrick will be able to play in the upcoming season to provide offensive support for the Wildcats.
