CBS announced its annual night kickoff as Alabama will play at Texas A&M under the lights on October 9.
The Crimson Tide have rolled to a 4-0 record behind newcomer quarterback Bryce Young. Meanwhile, injury to quarterback Haynes King has brought instability to the Aggies who have limped to a 3-1 that involved getting physically dominated at the hands of Arkansas and a very close win against Colorado.
The good news for Aggies fans is that Jimbo Fisher has yet to lose an SEC night game during his tenure, and his only loss during a nighttime game at Kyle Field was a 2-point to Clemson. Also, Texas A&M’s closest game against Alabama at Kyle Field during their time in the SEC was also a night game.
Many were curious about what game CBS would opt into their night slot this year as it has strayed away from the Alabama-LSU game that held that spot for so long. Viewers have seen Notre Dame-Georgia and Georgia-Alabama during the last two seasons.
Now, they will see Fisher try to become the first Saban assistant to defeat the former head coach (unless Lane Kiffin can pull the upset this week) under the lights at Kyle Field. The game has lost some of its luster as the Aggies fell to Arkansas last week and were nearly upset by Colorado two games before that.
