Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin announced that his team has reached a 100 percent vaccination rate.
Kiffin told ESPN's Chris Low that all players, coaches, and staff members who will take part in practices have all been vaccinated.
"It's pretty amazing and great motivation for our fans and the state," Kiffin told Low.
Kiffin went on to note that "nobody wants to be in a position to forfeit games" after that was a big topic at SEC Media Days a few weeks ago.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey stated that the league would not reschedule games for teams impacted by COVID-19 outbreaks this season.
"What I've identified for consideration among our membership is we remove those roster minimums and you're expected to play as scheduled," Sankey said. "That means your team needs to be healthy to compete, and if not, that game won't be rescheduled. And thus, to dispose of the game, the "forfeit" word comes up at this point."
The Rebels will kick off the 2021 season in Oxford on September 6 against Louisville.
