Mississippi State vs. Ole Miss Prediction: Picks, betting odds, analysis, more

The #9 Ole Miss Rebels travel to Starkville on Thursday to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Egg Bowl will be a pivotal game for the Rebels as they try to finish the regular season with a 10-2 record. A win for Mississippi State would put the program at 8-4 overall.

For Mississippi State, blocking up front for quarterback Will Rogers will be key. Rogers is a decent passer that can also utilize his rushing ability to scramble out of the pocket. In order for the Bulldogs offense to keep up, the passing game will have to be on point.

Looking to the Ole Miss defense, containing Rogers in the pocket and stopping the ground game will be the main focal point for success. The Rebels defense allows 25 points and 428 total yards of offense. Those numbers will have to be on the decline in terms of how many yards Mississippi State earns when on offense.

The Mississippi State defense has a big task in attempting to stop Corral in the pocket. State’s defensive line has to get pressure in the backfield and put the Rebels into unwanted situations to get off the field and give their offense more opportunities to find the end zone.
