Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz rewarded walk-on offensive lineman Richard Taylor with the ultimate surprise on Tuesday: a full scholarship.
Taylor, a redshirt junior, enrolled at Missouri in 2018. He's yet to play a snap but he earned his degree in statistics in May.
During a team meeting, Drinkwitz highlighted a play that Taylor made in a scrimmage, saying, "Hey Richard, that's good stuff right there. That's good juice right there, Richard."
As Taylor walked to the front of the room, Drinkwitz tossed him a drink bottle and asked him to read what was on the label.
"This contains special scholarship juice," Taylor read, as his teammates applauded.
Taylorplayed his high school football at Arabia Mountain High in Ellenwood, Ga.
