Ole Miss vs. Texas A&M Prediction: Picks, betting odds, analysis, more
Brandon Eisenman • 11/12/2021 in Football
The 11th-ranked Texas A&M Aggies travel to Oxford to face the No. 15 Ole Miss Rebels. Both teams enter with a 7-2 record. While a win would be huge for the Rebels, a win by the Aggies would keep them in a potential position to win the SEC West.
Ole Miss has a Heisman candidate in quarterback Matt Corral. He has taken the SEC by storm this season. Playing at home, Corral has to put up solid numbers and keep drives going in order to give the Rebels a chance to pull off the upset.
Texas A&M’s defense will have a tough task in keeping Corral in the pocket and not allowing the quarterback to scramble and make long throws or pick up yards on the ground. The Aggies' defensive front will have to get off blocks and tackle at the line of scrimmage or get into the backfield and force pressure to get off the field.
As far as the Ole Miss defense goes, the unit just needs to continue playing their style of defense. The Rebels can create turnovers at any moment and have a solid defensive front to get into the backfield. If Ole Miss can protect well in the passing game and contain Isaiah Spiller from breaking big runs, the unit could help get the offense back on the field to score points.
