Arkansas Football Season Preview: 2022 Predictions, Players To Watch, More

Chris Lee, Blake Lovell, and Blayne Gilmer preview the 2022 season for Arkansas football, including predictions, players to watch, expectations on offense and defense, and much more.

The Arkansas Razorbacks have one of the most intriguing schedules in all of college football in 2022. The non-conference schedule for Sam Pittman's squad likely looked a lot different when this schedule was created years ago. Now, Cincinnati is coming off a College Football Playoff appearance, BYU is a solid program soon to join the Big 12, and Liberty has been revived under Hugh Freeze.

Luckily the Razorbacks return a lot of firepower on offense and have added key transfers on defense. KJ Jefferson is both one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC and one of the more underrated players. Jefferson has complete command of Kendall Briles's offense and is looking to prove critics wrong about possible struggles in the passing game with Treylon Burks and Tyson Morris gone.

Jefferson will have new targets in through the air in Jaden Haselwood and Matt Landers. Haselwood comes from Oklahoma after the departure of Lincoln Riley to USC. Landers was formerly coached by Pittman at UGA and most recently achieved great success at Toledo. Both are big-bodied receivers and will be complemented greatly by pass-catching Tight End Trey Knox.

The running game will loosen things up in the secondary for that passing game and create one-on-one matchups. Rocket Sanders, Dominique Johnson, and AJ Green combine to create one of the most formidable running back corps in the conference and the nation.

Additions of Drew Sanders, Landon Jackson, Dwight Mcgothern, and Latavious Brini go a long way in helping Barry Odum's defense fortify itself from a year ago.
