Brian Harsin has made a staff change only four weeks into his first season at Auburn, firing first-year wide receiver's coach Cornelius Williams after this weekend's game against Georgia State.
Williams was an Alabama native and had spent some time bouncing around jobs since graduating from Troy where he has coached for the last couple of seasons. He was hired in January but will now be replaced by offensive analyst Eric Kiesau, who coached with Harsin at Boise State.
Harsin has routinely criticized the play from his receivers as Auburn’s offense has been plagued by drops and a lack of explosive performances during their last two games, which were a loss at Penn State and a very close win against Georgia State.
This could be exactly what the Auburn offense needs to jumpstart itself or it could be another complication. The Tigers will need to fix these issues soon as a trip to another intimidating atmosphere looms on Saturday when they will take on LSU.
