Auburn vs. Mississippi State Prediction: Picks, betting odds, analysis, more

Auburn and Mississippi State will clash at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday in what is a key SEC game for both programs. Auburn enters with a 6-3 record while the Bulldogs are 5-4. Auburn is a 5.5 point favorite following last week’s 20-3 loss at Texas A&M.
The Auburn offense will be led by quarterback Bo Nix and running back Tank Bigsby. Last week in College Station, the Tigers had trouble consistently moving the ball towards the end zone. This week, they have to be more efficient in the passing game. Another key is to get Bigsby going early. Auburn averages 427 total yards per game, and exceeding that milestone could result in another marquee victory.
For the Auburn defense, containing Rogers is key. Auburn’s secondary is a solid one and has the ability to get big stops in big-time moments. The defensive backs have to stay stride for stride with the Bulldogs receivers and not allow them to get a step ahead. The Tigers defense also needs to be wary of the run game and figure out a way to hold the Bulldogs to less than three or four yards per carry.
Looking to the Mississippi State defense, the Bulldogs will have a tough task in stopping Auburn’s offense. The Tigers are a solid offensive team at home and could get out to a big lead before it’s too late for Mississippi State to mount a comeback. Getting pressure in the backfield and winning the line of scrimmage will be key in a crucial conference game.
