Temple transfer Re’Mahn Davis has been a standout in an otherwise ineffective running game for Vanderbilt. But Davis will be out for the season after suffering an injury during the second quarter against Stanford.
The back rushed 44 times for 211 yards and ran for his first touchdown against the Cardinal on Saturday.
Backing up Davis are three underclassmen who will have to help the struggling Vandy offense. Rocko Griffin is a sophomore and will likely be the feature back for the remainder of the season. He played in eight games last year and rushed for 92 yard,s but only 2.5 yards per carry. The only players behind Griffin are three true freshmen, one of whom (James Ziglor III) was brought in to play cornerback.
Lea will have his work cut out for him as he looks to work through the dire situation in his offensive backfield, especially while facing Georgia's elite defense this coming Saturday.
