SEC baseball hitter/position player rankings: Rebels' Gonzalez and Aggies' Rock rise, Georgia's Tate makes his debut

Here's how we rank the SEC's best non-pitching players heading into the seventh weekend of league play.

Here's how we rank the league's top 14 position players coming into Thursday night's games. A number of factors (strength of schedule, SEC stats, fielding) are considered even if they aren't discussed below. Runs created and runs created per 27 outs, which are estimated by a Bill James formula and adjusted for the number of runs that player's team has scored, are listed in parenthesis.
1. Sonny DiChiara, 1B, Auburn (59 RC, 21.4 RC/27): Leads the league in batting average (.426) and on-base percentage (.591) in SEC games.
2. Jacob Gonzalez, SS, Ole Miss (50, 12.8): His .705 slugging average in league games ranks third, and his 10 home runs, first.
3. Jacob Berry, 3B/RF, LSU (47, 12.1): Ranks fourth in the SEC with a .482 on-base percentage in league games.
4. Dylan Rock, OF, Texas A&M (42, 11.2): Hitting .371/.500/.843 in SEC games; the latter mark leads the league.
5. Dominic Keegan, C/1B, Vanderbilt (42, 12.0): Hitting .407 in all games.
6. Trey Lipscomb, 3B, Tennessee (47, 12.0): Has an SEC-high 25 RBIs in league play.
7. Spencer Jones, RF, Vanderbilt (40, 11.7): Living up to massing potential now that he's healthy;it'll be interesting to see how high his draft stock climbs.
8. Tim Elko, 1B, Ole Miss (44.6, 11.7): Second in the league in all games with 51 RBIs.
9. Dylan Crews, CF, LSU (41, 11.0): Ranks 11th in SEC RBIs (17) and ninth in runs scored (16).
10. Blake Rambusch, 3B, Auburn (45, 10.4): Hitting .415/.483/.519 within the SEC, with a league-leading 32 hits.
11. Jud Fabian, CF, Florida (44, 11.0): Lipscomb, Elko and Fabian are tied for the SEC lead with 16 homers in all games.
12. Luc Lipcius, 1B, Tennessee (39, 12.1): He's played in 194 career games, and could break the school record of 219 if the Vols make a deep postseason run.
13. Connor Tate, OF, Georgia (39, 10.2): Tied with Jones for fifth-best on-base mark in SEC games (.468).
14. RJ Yeager, 2B, Mississippi St. (36, 9.8): Ranks in the league's top 15 in SEC games in average, slugging, hits, RBIs and home runs.
