About that alliance...

One day after the Pac 12 announced an alliance that would likely include a scheduling partnership with the ACC and Big Ten, Southern Cal and LSU have come to an agreement to open their 2024 season in Las Vegas by playing each other.

SI.com's Ross Dellenger reported the news on Twitter, adding that LSU has never played in Nevada.

The teams will play in Allegiant Stadium--home of the Las Vegas Raiders--on Labor Day weekend.

LSU and USC have played just twice, with USC winning in 1979 and LSU winning in 1984.

LSU is ranked 16th in this year's preseason AP poll, one spot behind the Trojans.
