Arkansas suffered a significant blow when the Razorbacks lost defensive end Dorian Gerald to a season-ending leg injury.
The leg injury came in practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, coach Sam Pittman announced the injury and his disappointment surrounding the situation.
Graduate transfer Trey Williams will take over at defensive end before the Razorbacks take on Steve Sarkisian and Texas on Saturday night.
While Gerald did not have a massive role in Arkansas’s Week One win against Rice after being down at halftime, the Razorbacks were hoping to lean on the 6-foot-3, 265-pound senior junior college transfer whose career at Arkansas had been an injury-plagued one.
Texas threw for 257 yards and ran for another 170 yards as it put up 38 points on Louisiana last week.
